North Dakota State College of Science moved up two spots to No. 18 nationally in the Week 10 NJCAA D2 Top 20 Poll released Monday evening.
NDSCS (23-7) has won 14 of its last 17 matches, finishing as the runner-up in the Mon-Dak Conference. The Wildcats open Region 13 Tournament play on Wednesday by hosting Lake Region State in a win-or-go-home match. NDSCS beat LSC 3-1 on Sunday.
Jane Passa has won 85 of her last 94 games in Wahpeton at Ed Werre Arena.
Sophomore All-American Gabby Hahn passed Morgan Hensch for second on the all-time kills list. Hahn is just eight kills away from becoming the second play in NDSCS history to record 800 kills. She passed the 800-dig mark last week. Classmate Lexi Hansch enters the week with 1,931 career assists. She's 69 away from becoming just the sixth player in program history to reach 2,000 career assists.
Freshman Katie Krieger is currently at 628 digs, ranking top 15 nationally in total digs and digs per set.
Parkland (IL) remained at No. 1 nationally behind a 43-1 record entering the week, taking every first-place vote. Defending national champion Coffeyville (KS) comes in at No. 2. Fort Scott (KS), Scottsdale (AZ) and Catawba Valley (NC) round out the top five. Bismarck State, the champion of the Mon-Dak, is currently ranked No. 17.
If the Wildcats beat Lake Region State, they'll advance to the Region 13 Final Four hosted by Bismarck.
