Running Attack and Defense Lead 'Cats to Second Half Comeback
Wildcats force eight turnovers. Clark runs for four touchdowns.
The #2 ranked NDSCS Football team traveled to Worthington, MN to take on Minnesota West on Saturday in a big game in the MCAC.
The scoring started early with the Blue Jays getting on the board first followed by the 'Cats getting on the board from a big 44 yard run from Tellise Clark Jr. Clark was only getting started from there. The Blue Jays would score two more times in the second quarter to build a 6-20 lead over the Wildcats. It was all NDSCS from there. Clark busted another long touchdown run (48 yards) to bring the score to 14-20 which would be the score going into half.
The second half was all Wildcats as Clark scored two more rushing touchdowns (8 yards/46 yards) and the defense's Landan Reaves recovered a fumble and took it 70 yards for the score. Kicker Ryndon Olsen was perfect on the day going 5/5 on extra points and added a 27 yard field goal as well.
The Wildcats used that 24-0 run to get the 38-20 win over Minnesota West. The defense forced an astounding eight turnovers on the game including six fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
NDSCS returns to action Saturday as they travel to Fergus Falls to take on MSCTC-FF with a 1:30 PM kickoff.
